However, we recommend submitting a PD application to obtain a Certificate of Lawfulness for peace of mind. New developments or homes in conservation areas will generally require full planning permission.

How long does a loft conversion take?

What is a hip-to-gable conversion?

In a hip-to-gable conversion, the sloping side (hip) of the roof is extended outwards and upwards to form a vertical gable wall. This design strengthens the roof structure and creates additional internal loft space, making it ideal for semi-detached, end-of-terrace, and detached properties.

Is my roof high enough for a conversion?

To check, stand on the ceiling joist directly beneath the roof apex and measure from the joist to the underside of the apex. A minimum height of 2,300 mm is required for a compliant loft conversion.

No. Loft conversion work is primarily carried out externally. All materials are delivered directly into the loft using a crane lorry, minimising disruption. During internal work, we ensure all areas are protected and covered to reduce dust and debris.
